Service down the DRAIN

Last night (14/02/13) on valentines day, decided to take my wife out to the News Cafe in Hatfield. We sat down and I called a waiter to please bring us an ashtray and menu's. I lit my cigarette but the waiter never showed up with the ashtray or the menu. I decided to ask another waiter he too disappeared about 10min later I decided to stand and walk over to the bar and order our drinks. When I came back to the table I noticed the manager I asked him if I could get some service, his reply was " I know my waiters are not in up to scratch and I will deal with them" and he hurried off before he could finish talking to me. mind you I never got any service from a waiter and I did not get an ashtray. After we finished our drinks we stood up and went to Cofi, where atleast there was some service. I grew up frequenting this news cafe since 1999, the management is really gone down. That was the last time they ever see me and will discourage all my friends from ever going to a place where service does not matter.
