We were very unhappy with the service received yesterday at Gateway. We were welcomed nicely at the door & led to a table. After having made our meal choices and closed our menus, Mdu eventually came over to our table holding his electronic "gadget'. Before he even looked at us, he started a conversation with some of the other waitrons in the kitchen, in zulu, & we had to wait for him to finish. When he finished his conversation, instead of greeting us & asking if we were ready to order, he just looked at us with a questioning expression on his face. That is totally unacceptable!

A few other observations:
1. The food was actually very good
2. We ordered extra mushrooms which came in a "tacky" plastic container, not what one would expect in a centre like Gateway - in smaller Wimpy's you get the extra mushrooms in a ceramic container
3. When Mdu took our plates, he asked "is everything STILL okay" - not that he'd asked us before whether things were okay!

In this case, Mdu did not receive the usual 15% tip I give - maybe he doesn't need the extra money, & if so, perhaps you should employ waitrons who do, and are willing to greet customers. Not much work for a R20 tip!
