CAVEAT EMPTOR!

We arranged for an 8 person retirement lunch at Platia, Emperors Palace. When I arrived, I asked for a glass of house wine, but waiter suggested a bottle which I accepted. I also ordered a JW Red double. Bottle was placed on table unopened as well as JW. Other quests arrived and as we ordered lunch, we opened red wine placed (without any comments) in front of us. Other colleagues also ordered JW Red. When bottle red was finished we ordered another. I had to leave earlier and colleagues were left at table. As we transferred a large deposit I was not too concerned with deposit being short. Surprise surprise. The bottle red placed in front of me was billed at R630.00 without the waiter having drawn my attention to same. Thus R1260 just for 2 bottles of red wine!! What a disgrace. When we went through the bill on Friday, we were charged for JW Black which were never ordered as it is too expensive for company function. Never again Platia!! Even if we have to be content with KFC and Coke! What an absolute disgrace! Platia management should be ashamed of the conduct of the waiters pouncing on innocent patrons who were not responsible for the bill and getting away with it
