I went out with my 2 friends and we asked for the wine list and we were told that they don't have our waitress would be able to tell us what wine's they had in stock. Then the waitress did that we then ordered a bottle of Chocolate Block which is a south african product and we were not advised of the price and we didn't ask for the price either simply because we know the retail price of that wine is R129 a bottle. We did expect some mark-up however wen we finished our second bottle and asked for the bill to our suprise they charged us R450 per bottle, how wrong is that more than 200% of mark up and we paid the bill simply because we already enjoyed the wine and its the right thing to do.
My concern is suppliers gets away with such ridiculous profits and to my understanding 10-15% of profit is more that sufficient, they are taking us for a ride.
