Owner to me - "Pay your bill & never come back"

I've had a very good meal at your Parktown store on 23/5. My companion and I ordered a ladies fillet and t-bone. Within seconds of the steaks arriving at our table the manager came to our table, apologized for the undersized fillet and offered a cappuccino after the meal in compensation, which I told him was insulting since the coffee while costing us say R20 would cost the establishment less than half that say R10. Considering the steak cost R130, I would have expected a token reduction in proportion to the size of the missing steak, which was at least 30%. When the bill arrived I again requested the manager to reconsider his offer having explained that in fact I was entitled, under the consumer protection act, to refuse to pay for the entire steak. He said I has a point a left.
The bill duly arrived, with an open food credit of R20. At this point I called the owner, reiterated my previous comments and said I would be satisfied with him deducting the starter or the cost of 1 of 2 glasses of wine we ordered.
His response was, that he wasn't interested and I should pay my bill and never come back... So much for customer service.
