On 06-04-2013 I went to the Standard Bank ATM to draw some cash but the ATM swallowed my card. I immediately went to the bank to get a new card before they closed. there was a long queue, and nobody to assist me. After almost 2hrs, I eventually got help. Apparently a R1000 was drawn and my card was swiped as well. I was shocked as to how this could happen so easily and all I was told very calmly and without any empathy is that if this is a card then it's not the banks fault and my money won't be refunded. Firstly, what security do we have using the ATM. It's so unfair that I am held liable for their lack of security. Secondly I am appalled at their customer service. I was told that if I log a call with the department they would get back to me in 3 working days, 1 week later and I'm still waiting for a response. After 3 attempts I got hold of a manager by the name of Gift and he assured me that he would get back to me on Monday and I'm still waiting. Clearly customer service is not an important part of their business. All I want is my money back. This is the worst service I have ever received at a bank, or anywhere for that matter. DISGUSTED!!!
