I opted to get a blackberry with FNB and also insured it through them. Since then the phone broke and the nightmare of dealing with incompetence is unending. It took two weeks to find anyone from FNB insurance to even be helped and receive a claim number. Once I received the banking details where the excess needed to be paid, I did so (on the 6th of March) and was told the matter would be dealt with in 10-15 working days. To date, after numerous emails and phone calls I have absolutely no idea what is going on, yet my account is still being debited for both the phone and the insurance. The incompetence and inability to deliver a service is astounding, especially from a bank I assumed was one of the best. I am now aware that they clearly do not deserve the reputation they claim to have.
