Standard Bank
Unauthorised transaction on garage card

Business & Finance

In January 2013, I informed Standard Bank card division of an unauthorised transaction (dated 16/11/2012) on my garage card. I requested the bank to reverse the transaction. Instead, I was charged a further R55-00 for voucher retrieval (I did not request the voucher because I keep meticulous records and was certain that I did not authorise the particular transaction). I confirmed that I did not authorise the transaction and that the voucher was signed by an unknown person. Over the course of the last few months, the case has been transferred from one department to the other (e.g chargeback, etc). I was finally notified by a Kelebogile Ratsela that I should sort out the matter myself with the garage. Neither of the charges were reversed.
