Called The Glen branch of SB in Nov 2012 to request an increase on a revolving credit that I had in place. I was told via e-mail that I did not qualify but I did however qualify for a loan. I accepted this offer from a Crystal Brown and put it in writing that I would like to take a loan of R10k over 36 months. Crystal responded with a mail confirming that loan was now in place and monies had been transferred to my curr acc. Thats the last I heard from her. Queried in Feb for balance, Crystal informed me that she no longer worked for Glen branch but suggested I go into the bank to get balance. Called 0860101341 in March, spoke to Tumi who confirmed that my balance was R10800. I was obviously very confused?!?! I took a loan out in Nov for R10k had made 3 re-payments of R551.00 a month but balance seemed way out, even accounting for interest. Tumi then informed me that there was a R1000.00 initiation fee charged on the 31st of Dec. How sucky to just charge a fee that NO ONE told me about. Logged a call with SB complaints and as I expected, nothing came of it except a pathetic attempt at sorry. Someone needs to be accountable for this. I am not going away until something is done!!!
