My husband made a personal visit to Standard bank Benoni branch on how to sell some unit trusts belonging to my son over which my husband had signing powers. He was advised to fill in form that was sent electronically to us. Form was filled in and sent off. We heard nothing more. Only when we phoned Stanlib were we told that this transaction could not be done and that we needed to switch the funds into my husbands name and then he could sell some of the unit trusts. More forms were ssent to us which were completed same day accompanied by copy of ID and copy of utilities bill. Then we received a call telling us they still could not process as the documents had to be certified. This we did. Since sending off the documents we have tried several times phoning the call centre- every time another operater another story- servers not working, not visible on their system. When trying to get a supervisor all sorts of excuses -in meetings, on a call and always the promise to get back to us - not a word from Stanlib. We are still waiting. We needed the money to give to our son who is visiting us at present- this has put a damper on his holiday.
