I have an elite plus cheque account (R99 monthly fee). Which is suppose to have no annual card fee on your gold credit card.
on 25-02-2013 i was charged a R270 annual service fee.
I phoned the call center & was told this fee will be reversed in 5-7 days [REFERENCE no 37125056]
2 weeks later the fee has still not been reversed.
Today I phoned again & was told I have to go into the bank there is nothing that can be done to help me over the phone. I was then put through to someone else who told me that my credit card has been cancelled (AN ERROR FROM STANDARD BANK) and i will have to go in to collect a new card with a new number within 30 days?? [REFERENCE no: 37346086]
I was also informed that my internet banking will not longer work as it will be a new card number?
This is ridiculous! I do not want a new card with a new number because someone cancelled my card by mistake? Why can this not be rectified?
If this is a mistake by Standard Bank, why must I go collect a new card, have to sit in a queue to see a consultant to set up my internet banking all over again? and what happens to my garage card which is linked to the credit card?
And when will the R270 annual fee be reversed?
