Having received notice that a policy had matured, I emailed Liberty Life requesting that it be made paid up. After completing many forms, and fulfilling requests for other information, I got a call from Marcia Maphari informing me that I should contact my broker to get a new living annuity. I explained that I had had no such person since leaving Johannesburg thirteen years ago, and she undertook to help me in this regard. She was very efficient and after completing more and more forms, I was told the one third payout would occur within 5 working days. Then after further emails last week regarding the payout which is weeks late, I was 'phoned by Siphiwe to say that they had sent in the tax directive, and that the initial one was rejected, but that the second one was accepted. He undertook to call me after 14.00 hrs on Thursday 7th March 2013. I'm still waiting. An email to Marcia this morning has not been replied to. After a wait of three months I believe this to be a rip off and that Liberty is holding back my money. As my wife is a CA, I know my tax is up to date so that is not an excuse
