Hi All
I have always been a patriot and satisfied with the service I received from Outsurance till 3 months ago. I took out a short term insurance on my caravan/content prior to going on holiday. I was informed of the fee and had to take my caravan with content to a Glassfit to verify the existence of the asset. I made provision for the extra goods (microwaves etc) that we took with.
Me and my family had a bit of a challenge on holiday as a storm ripped our gazebo off and damaged our 6 seater out-door table. I did contact them immediately and sent them photos of the incident.
In the meanwhile I had to use my holiday funds to replace the gazebo and would sort out the table at a later stage.
In January I was informed that they do not do this 'type' of insurance. I was stunned to hear this as if they informed me about this in December I would have contacted another insurance company. Then I asked them to listen to the recording as they state their calls are recorded.
3 months and 4 requests later it is still not resolved. The total of the claim will be somewhere in the region of R10k which I believe is little. Guess the bending over backwards aint working
