I tried to make a purchase with my cheque card on the 9 February. The transaction did not go through on the debit card machine and I subsequently had to withdraw the money and pay cash for the goods purchased. However the money seems to be reserved in my account till date. I have contacted Fnb via the online banking complaint/compliments facility to request that the money not be paid out of my account. I was asked to call the debit card disputes department. I have tried calling that department 4 times. Each time I was on hold to speak to an operator for more than 30 minutes and was never transferred to an operator. That's a total of more than 2 hours holding for an operator, which I still have not been able to get through to. Really not acceptable. A waste of my time and money. And I haven't even had my dispute attended to as yet.
