Honest Clients sunk into debt

I have been a client of African bank and have made use of their services for a number of years. I have never defaulted on any of the credit arrangements I have made with them.

Recent, I have been expiriencing financial challenges. I phones a week ago, after paying an amount eualling 5 times my instalment and asked Celiwe to reduce my credit limit and to re-arrange my installment. days after I receiv an sms telling me hat my request has been declined. I phone in again yesterday (06/03/13), I spk to Masego who advised me that Celiwe did not understand my request, and that she will register the request again. I asked Masego to reduce my credit limit by the credit I have available. Today (07/03/13) I receive an sms stating that that request has been declined.

I find African Banks actions irresponsible and reckless considering that Im a customer who is paying and trying to reduce my debt, instead of defaulting on the debt. I can no longer afford it, hense Im paying the debt and requesting for it to be reduced. Is that not a responsible thing that Im doing??? I will change my bank to avoid paying this credit card if they dont resolve the matter. Please stop debt enslaving your honest clients.
