In June 2012 I logged a claim for the FIRS time at Liberty Life. What an eye opener it was! We pay way more than R6000.00 per month on insurance at Liberty alone. The lack of communication at Liberty was unbelievable.
And that for a lowsy R15000.00 claim on a policy that was sold to us as an Income Protection Policy that was suppose to pay your salary when you can't work for a specific time, it was said to us even if you cant work for 2 or 3 weeks. Unfortunately it turned out that this policy only pays out if you are totally disabled or loose an arm or a leg. Roughly calculated the premiums payed for this policy was about R100 000.
On 28 January I received a letter from Liberty to tell me that the claim has been declined. This was also the first letter from the time the claim was submitted to Liberty in June 2012! What a shame.
I have no have trust in Liberty any more, and this is not because my claim was rejected. That is because of Libertys communication issues. Unfortunately mostly All our insurance is at Liberty.
Liberty, please sent letters to your clients when they submit a claim, with your contact numbers and at least try to keep them informed about their claim.
