A claim was put in against leaking pipes between the kitchen and bathroom wall. 1st Contractor was sent out to access on a Friday and he was told verbally by Standard bank that they would pay us a certain amount as it would cost Standard Bank too much. We then went ahead and got our own plumber to do the work as it was urgent. A week later we called Standard Bank to enquire about being paid out their Standard amount. They informed us for the Kitchen cabinets we would have to submit a quote which we did (05/02/2013). We called on the 12/02/2013 to follow up and the mail had not been opened as yet. The consultant said they would send it through for authorization and payment. Only the pipes were paid out. They then informed us that they would send out a contractor of their own to access and quote which was done. Then when we called Standard Bank to enquire what was going on and was told that they wanted proof of invoice for the plumber to prove the damage was from the pipes. To date 3 contractors have been sent out with no actual action. Consultants are clearly not trained up enough to inform clients of all the documents and requirements they are looking for to get speedy reaction.
