Standard Bank
STORM CLAIM NUMBER:12/083004

Business & Finance

During the month of December 2012 I lodged a claim with Standard Bank Insurance for a storm damage to my house which affected the the roof, floor tiles and the retaining wall. The Bubezi Construction CC was appointed after many weeks after the incident was reported. After days proceeded without any repairs being done I again phoned the insurance and was told that they decided to appoint an assessor because the quotation received was too high. The assessor came. On the 23 January 2013 I received a call from the builder that were only instructed to replace the cornice, paint ceiling and wall. When I queried he said I should speak to the insurance. I have since struggling to get a letter stating the reasons as to why were they not fixing all the storm damages. I have been calling so many times and being promised the letter and reports to no avail. Some of the people I spoke to are a certain Jonathan Baloo, Sherai, Natalia and Thulo.

It is important to note the insurance was offered to me together with the bond. I was not requested any information or documents. Everything was based on the assessment that was done by the bank before granting me a loan.
