First For Women Insurance
Sales Person Misleading regarding Excess costs

Business & Finance

I signed up with First for Women in March 2012 where the sales guy Jason Davis was extremely helpful in getting my policy sorted out.
I am always aware of extra hidden costs and since this is a verbal agreement I was sure to ask many questions as possible.
Jason assured me that other than my R950 excess, I would not be liable for any extra costs should I submit a claim.

End of Jan 2013 I reported an accident to Letitia Nicol.
Now all of a sudden I am liable to a further R2200 in excess (total R3150) for reasons which were not clearly stipulated in our agreement. I never received any policy documentation so could be made aware of these costs.
Leticia Nicol has already authorised my repairs with the panelbeaters without my consent or knowledge thereof as I am still disputing the excess.
It's been 3 weeks now and still haven't heard a word! I've had 2 voicemails and everytime I call back she is not available and the others in their Call Centre either cannot assist me or give my false information.

Surely this is in breach of contract? If I did not agree to the terms verbally then how can I be liable now?

Never received such poor service. Should've stuck with Outsurance!
