Recently I claimed car damage at Auto and General. I received my rental car that was included in the cover and waited for a response to my claim. No one contacted me. I phoned and emailed till I was told that my car would not be released from the assessment center until there was certainty about my driver's licence. My driver's licence is Dutch and Auto and General informs me I must have an international driver's licence. They didn't tell me this when they accepted me as a client, although they knew I have a Dutch licence.

The rental company tells me to bring back the car after 17 days, although I am covered for a vehicle for 31 days. The rental company tells me this is probably because they are denying the claim. Again, I have not heard anything directly from A&G. I phone to find out and am told someone will call me, which doesn't happen. I phone them again. A&G tells me I can keep the rental car three days longer, but they do not tell me anything about the outcome of my claim. I run a small business and am highly dependent on my car, which is why I took out cover for a rental. With these delays from A&G, I will not get my car repaired in time.
