30 Minutes spent to close off an account

I have been a Nedbank customer for years. Never had any issues in the past. On this day when I decide to close off my acc I had to have this bad experience. I walk inside the bank at about 01:15pm. I tell the consultant my problem and she suggest that I close off the one account and re-open anotehr one to make things easier. I hand her my ID book and the problem starts. She starts asking me why my ID is so loose. Its a book for heaven's sake and is easily damaged. She gives me a sceptic look. I tell her to ask the verification questions that they normally asks... but no she decides to go to the back office and speak with management. It takes her 10 minutes tops to get back to me. They do the verification checks (Had I not suggetsed that initially?) Anyway I am assisted account gets closed but I have to go to the teller to withdraw the remaining balance. Just as I get there she leaves and asks me to wait. Another 10 minutes waisted. Was that all necessary I ask. Why did they not do that at the other branch? I have owned this ID book for years but yes it is different from the one I opened the account with.. Oh yes I was late at work back from lunch. Thanks to Nedbank
