No Feedback - Denied Claim No. 751866

On Friday the 4th of Jan we had a power surge from lightning in the area at the time which blew my TV and Xbox console. I reported the incident to Discovery Insure on Monday the 7th at 09h00 and explained everything to the agent who gave me a claim number 751866 and said someone would phone me within 24hrs to confirm everything. I didn't receive any call so phoned in again on the morning of the 9th Jan and was told that they would be sending an agent to collect the items for inspection. Once again I heard nothing and phoned again on Friday lunch time and was now told that it was decided that the items are not covered and that they don't cover power surges. At no time was I ever told about this when taking the cover and it doesn't mention it anywhere in my policy cover schedule.
I am apalled by the poor service and may have to take this issue up with insurance ombudsman if not reconsidered.
