Refusing to insure me because of my credit

In the Recession I was retrenched. We got so behind we were declared insolvent. Like many we went through a tough time because of the recession. Now me and my husband both have steady Jobs. I was informed after applying for life insurance at outsurance that I was unable to apply because of my credit record. Really? this makes no sense at all! I am not applying for credit! What does my credit record have to do with it??! If they fear I won't make payment then why don't they suspend the policy like most once i do miss the payment?? This was an absolute slap in the face. Never in my life experienced worst or more humiliating service. I know my credit record is not sorted out yet as it takes years in court - but that is exactly why I do not apply for credit! That makes sense. This does not! Beyond ridiculous. Outsurance definitely not the best insurance company out there. Very very dissapointed and will view every ad as a negative from now on.
