I am an FNB client and have had vehicle financing with Wesbank for a few years. I am now wanting to trade in my current vehicle to buy a cheaper one that will save me R800-00 per month.
I was declined for the loan because I had a default from Medihelp listed on my name. It was an honest ignorant mistake and I paid the account in full. I have a letter from the collection attorneys dated 2012-06-05 stating that the account was paid in full and that Medihelp has no further claims against me.
I explained to Wesbank what happened but they said they could only look at financing me if the default is cleared. I have approached an attorney to assist but Medihelp would not budge.
My account with Wesbank gets paid via debit order and I have never defaulted or skipped a payment. Surely that should give Wesbank an indication of how I conduct my account.
Furthermore it will save me R800-00 per month which is a lot of money for a single lady.
I have been through the dealership's finance department as well as directly through the branch (Which I thought would assist me in doing a motivation).
I don't know who to speak to that can assist me in getting the decision overturned.
