I am being retrenched at the end of January 2014 and I phoned wesbank to arrange a payment plan/lower my car instalments for a while with them so that i don't default on my payments and lose my car. I was told that they cannot help me as i didn't' take out 'retrenchment insurance' . I have not heard of this until I spoke to the lady at wesbank. I didn't arrange the contract with wesbank personally, the car dealership where i got my car from did it for me.
The Lady at wesbank was very unhelpful and told me that the only thing i could do was cancel my debit order and pay when I could!! Which is total rubbish. I am an honest person who phoned in so that I could be helped with keeping my car and this is what i was advised to do!!!
Surely there is something Wesbank can do to help me as the consumer, an honest one!!
