I have a supplementary policy to cover for minor dings and dents. I call to register a claim and ask about the process. First I am told to get 3 quotes (keep in mind that the claim limit is R2250 - seriously, how much difference in price can there be). When I say I do not have time to get quotes but that I know of a company who specialises in these types of repairs, Nadia says no problem, I need only get one quote. During this call she comfirms who they are and gives me the go ahead. I email the quote and the photos to her the same afternoon. Today she calls me to advise that the claim has been declined because the supplier is not on their approved panel and that I must get 3 quotes!!! This after I mentioned who they were in our call yesterday!!! Why not tell me then? Worse, when I ask who I should get quotes from I am only given one company in PE that is approved. So who does she suggest does the other two quotes?? And I suppose I should just do this because I have the time and petrol to waste? Why ask for 3 when you will only accept 1, and only from a supplier YOU approve. Then they call me back to say it's approved, but at R350 less. USELESS!!!
