I would like to express my disappointment in absa regarding my insurance claim.
My property was damaged due to a lightening on or around 2013-01-10.

The whole claim process has left me totally shocked. I have incurred several expenses which I have had to cover on my own. Paying insurance seems to be like gambling. Heads you lose, tails you lose.

Telephones are frequently not answered, or one is cut off by staff. All communication seems to be one sided.

I had requested absa send the assessor's cheap quote contractor to do the job. After waiting a week, I then began calling other companies. I gave the business to the fastest and most professional service provider.

Finally I had to pay cash as no company was willing to claim from absa insurance, nor could they provide a proper professional service within the price limit stipulated by the assessors.

I would like to add that on my previous claim for my geyser damage I had the same don't care response from absa, and had to pay cash for all my repairs first. I then had to accept a fraction of what i paid as a settlement.
