Platinum Cards

So i have a couple of platinum accounts with FNB which does not really mean anything. I need travel insurance, on amazing benefit of a platinum card is that it is free of charge. That being said, if you are in possession of such a card... did you know, you will not be able to utilize this benefit if you don't purchase a plane ticket on this card.
I purchased a ticket recently with ebucks, GREAT as it did not really cost me money out of my normal account. Now for a visa to the UAE, UK etc. you will need travel insurance. If you use your ebucks and instead of your platinum card, get ready for fork out an additional R800 for travel insurance from FNB as your platinum account "travel insurance" benefit is void if you don't utilize the this account to purchase your ticket. REDICULAS!!! what is the point in paying extra fees on a platinum account, if you are not able to use the benefit?
