I am pretty sure all standard bank customers remember what happened on the 25th Jan 2014 with regards to their systems going offline.
So I was in the line at a popular retail store, when I got to the cashier she informs me that they are having a problem with accepting standard bank debit cards. she offers to keep my stuff whilst I go to the standard bank atm to draw some cash. waited in the queue for about 20 mins. as I get to the atm the systems go offline. desperate for cash I went to the FNB atm to draw money only to get a receipt stating " your bank is experiencing technical difficulty and cannot process your transaction at this time." However an amount of R1200 was deducted from my account.
I called the std bank help line who tell me I need to go into a branch to resolve.
so on the Tuesday (28/01/2014) I excuse myself from work to go to the bank.
the teller tells me she needs to log it with Gijima and that they would contact me within 4 days.
it has been 8 days now and still no contact and my money hasnt been returned either.
why must I have to run around, delay my work, use my car, pay for parking cause standard bank had a problem.
time to move to another bank
