Absa pays R75000 for bad insurance repairs

Business & Finance

I had water damage in my house due to the rain, resulting in my wooden floors being damaged.

Absa approved repairs for -R75 000 for repairs towards John Dore flooring to repair my floors.

John Dore made a few messes, leaving gaping holes in between blocks, and not aligning blocks at all at some places. They used our original Rhodesian Teak blocks from the main bedroom to fix and patch up the rest of the house, and then used what seems to be an inferior wood (it looks like oregon pine) to replace the original floor in the main bedroom. There is a distinct colour difference between our main bedroom and the rest of the house.

I called Marius and Brando from John Dore to complain. Marius was here and agreed that it is not correct. Yet they did not do anything to solve the issue.

I called Absa to complain, but they too do not seem to care that they pay out this large amount of money, but the company who takes their money, does a lousy job.

I have not heard anything from Absa or John Dore for more than 2 weeks now.

Absa should force John Dore to replace all the bad floors, as they are becoming thinner all the time by sanding, as well as replace the cheap floors in my main bedroom
