Absa still claiming money owed when car settled

Due to an accident, my car was settled in full by my Insurance on the 6th December 2013. Despite numerous attempts to get this sorted out even going into a branch, Absa claims the car is not settled. The proof of payment was sent to them showing the payment was successful, yet they still adamant that the car is not settled. All I need is a letter saying the car is paid up, is this so difficult to understand?
