I get the response below from standard bank, admitting that I do have cover.. suggesting I should put a claim - I did that early in December already, catch a wake-up call! but as true as a living they phone me a couple of times each day over the one installment I skipped, and the penalties is now standing on R 2, 415 I have been paying for their incompetence.

I would like to apologise on behalf of everyone at Standard bank for our inability to assist you satisfactorily.
We do understand how challenging it is to lose a job during these current economic conditions and we appreciate that you took the initiative to approach us to explain your circumstance. We noticed that you've had a credit protection plan policy for both your Cheque and Revolving credit plan loan accounts. We therefore suggest that you put a claim with our Insurance department on 0860123555.
