I have a Standard Bank Blue Bean Credit Card, on my Sept 2013 statement I noticed that I was paying for a Credit Protection Plan, which I have not given authourisation for. I sent an email to Standard bank on the 11 Oct 2013 to investigate the matter and refund me the amounts that were taken off my account for the Credit Protection Plan. I have since recieved couple emails that the query is being attended to and once the query is finalised I will be notified of the outcome, and this is being going on sine 11 Oct 2013, over a month now. I was told that the credit card was an Edgars Credit Card which was move to a Blue Bean card with the Credit Protection Plan added onto the card and it was the customers responsiblity tp query the Credit Protection Plan not that time, according to the Credit Protection Law, no one can make you pay for something that you have not given authourisation for, therefore Standard Bank had no authourisation to load the Credit Protection Plan onto my account and force me and OTHER customers to pay for it. The blessing is I bank with FNB, my vehicle and 2 homeloans are with FNB. 1 credit card with Standard Bank and boy the headache...
