FALSE PRETENSE SELLING TACTIC

Okay so below is the email I got from Trans union this morning;

Dear *Me*,

Your account on [URL Removed] has been locked for security reasons as numerous
incorrect attempts have been made to access your account. You are advised to contact
our call centre on 0861 482 482 to obtain a temporary password to access your account.

I call in concerned and confused because I don't have "an account" with the credit bureaus and how can someone hack your account then. Checked the phone number attached with the email and called. Once identifying myself to the technical staff member he tried to sell me a 12 month sub to premium Trans-union services.

This is unethical. I hope illegal. They make money off our data aggregating and selling it to everyone who asks for it. Now they are luring us in to pay for our own data and services we did not want and on false representation.

This is a terrible hack sales tactic that I expect one of the cellphone companies pitched to them - worst part is you call in concerned on your time and air time.
