I have been a loyal customer of standard bank for almost all my life. The service being offered in the home loans department is pathetic. I recently signed up for a home loan and without any notification standard bank added assusance cover on to my bond. This was not requested as I have a an existing policy. i was requested to cancel this cover, have submitted all documentation requested on the 20/12/2013 and to date it still has not been canecelled. After several follow ups I have been told by home loans that the query has been escalated to credit life. I took the initiavtive and called credit life according to there records they have received no cancellation request from standard bank. 1 month has passed and now I have been billed for a service I do not require. What ever happened to urgency, good customer service and turn around times? last week I called and spoke to Andile in the home loans dept she had no feedback at this point I was furious and requested to speak to a supervisor/manager, according to Andile they were all busy and there was nobody to assist me. I requested a call back and she confirmed that her teamleader Eden would call me, to date nobody as called.
