Not advised that my car will be written off

On the 29/11/2013 I logged a claim with AA, they told me that access amount is R3850.00 for the car to be repaired. They called me in December to take my car for assessment, my car was assessed on the 18/12/2013.Early January I received a call that I must bring the car for repair on the 27/01/2014.on the 21/01/2014 I received an sms from Wesbank that my car is written off, I called AA is then they started explaining to me that the car was written off as the repair amount was more than 75% of what my car worth. They will pay wesbank R56145.00, I will be paid R1900.00 and smd will collect the car to sell it, they have cancelled the policy and I must register the car as code 2 if I do self repair without any communication with me. I am driving the car, hail damaged one mirror, two globes and windscreen, is what I am loosing the car for? Thanks to wesbank by letting me know with an sms. I have withdrawn the claim how ever I am sitting with lot of questions... Not happy at all.
