On Fri 17 Jan 2014, I proceeded to deposit money at the ATM. For the past week the ATM machine was giving problems so when it spat out my R50 I went into Standard Bank to ask for a fresh bill. I then proceeded to the ABSA ATM again & met one of the branch staff. I was still in the process of telling her all this when the machine swallowed my card. Turns out one of the branch staff had opened the machine as I was inserting my card. I proceed to tell the staff member that my card was lying face down & needed to be removed. She was abrasive & abrupt ignoring me & proceeded to close the ATM machine whilst I was still busy talking. I then waited to be assisted with a solution & none was forthcoming. I then saw Adrian waving at me & proceeded into the branch. I was told a new card had to be ordered. I was flabergasted & when Adrian heard me telling the staff that I could see the card through the slit, he decided to investigate. Long story short, Adrian heard me, got the Prestik, attached it to the end of the stick & after the 2nd attempt I had my credit card safely returned. I remain disgusted with ABSA Pinelands service and thank my hero, Adrian Daniels for his excellent service always
