Data entry error on FNB side

I went to FNB to pay an account into a Standard Bank account, which is where my car loan is. I gave documents which showed the account number. They paid over the amount and after checking with Standard Bank about whether they received the payment, they told me that they have not received any payment. After bringing it to the attention of FNB, they told me that it wasn't their problem but that I gave them the wrong account details (after showing them the right account number). I spoke to the manager of FNB and she told me that I must sort it out with FNB. They didn't want to help me with anything. This just shows to me the true character of FNB, which is appalling.

Luckily Standard Bank came to my rescue and they helped me out with everything and they discovered that it was FNB's incompetence since they completely forgot to put in the last 4 digits of the account (Which I showed them from a statement.)

I feel that everybody makes mistakes but FNB's approach to sorting this out and finding out what went wrong, was handled incorrectly.
