STAGNANT DAMAGE CLAIM

Our dining room ceiling collapsed on 7 Jan and we lodged claim. After 2 days had to get ABSA to send a loss adjuster. They intimated that ceiling collapsed due to rain - it had not rained and roof is not leaking anyhow. Late 9 Jan adjuster came. We showed him the ceilings and that there were no water marks. I proved him with our photos and he took photos of his own. He submitted report that night to ABSA and confirmed the step to me by email. Since then I have spent hours on the phone trying to get a decision and repair procedure going. Every time I phone 0860112225 I am promised by the consultant that somebody will phone me back. Nothing happens, I then reverted to leaving messages on system to be called. No response. Asked for a supervisor. Never available. Left messages for supervisor (Elsabe de Beer 011-5018513). No reaction. In the meantime we have to stare at the rafter and enjoy the dust filtering from the rest of the house ceiling into our house.
