My house is insured with ABSA Home Insurance. Severe damage was caused by a hail storm on 28th November 2013 to the roof and a claim was registered with ABSA on the 29th.

After hours of phone calls to ABSA to try and obtain response / assistance as the first contractor appointed by ABSA couldn't be reached on the contact number supplied by ABSA and no contact from the contractor was received for more than a week, a second contractor was appointed who visited and inspected the damage on 21 December 2013.

That was unfortunately the last assistance / response I received - even after both ABSA and the contractor was informed that with every additional rain extra damaged is caused! Until today I couldn't even managed to contact ABSA again - I've spend more than 3 hours calling their contact number (010 211-5921) without any answer.

As a client with ABSA from 1998, (my cheque account, credit card, home bond, investments and car finance are all with ABSA), I'm disappointed in their response and way ABSA is handling the claim.

A lot of my friends who are with ABSA is experiencing the same lack of proper service and we all consider leaving ABSA if this is the way they treat c
