Lost papers

Business & Finance

I have been trying unsuccessfully since the 30th of November 2013 to close my late husbands credit card account. The first time I went into the bank & the consultant faxed all the paper work to credit card division. We were informed that it would take 7 to 10 working days for the account to be closed & the money transferred to my account. On the 17th of December I checked my account & no new money was there. So back into the branch & a new consultant helped me. Again we faxed all the necessary paper work to the deceased estates department. This time however the consultant helping me phoned after faxing to confirm that they had received all the necessary paper work. the lady on the phone confirmed that she had & gave her name & the time as a reference. The money should have cleared into my account by the 3rd of January 2014. Today I went back into the bank & again Poppy phoned the late estate department to find out what was taking so long, as there is still no money. To my horror Robert says that the account has not been closed because it hasn't been registered as a deceased account & that there is no Paper work! Does the late estate department use our faxes as toilet paper?
