I received an SMS stating that I have failed to pay the arrears amount on my smart device. I was not aware that it was in arrears, since I never receive any notifications of the failed transactions (debit orders). I also never get InContact notifications for the payments either, for that matter. Also, normally FNB just reruns the debit order a few days after it has failed, but in November they did not, and did not notify me. Hence the arrears balance.
The SMS demands that the full outstanding amount of R4400 has to be paid to avoid legal action, even though I still have a year to go on the device arrangement!
As per the detailed balance on my device account, I am only in arrears with R550!?!? I am more than happy to pay this, but when I tried to do a transfer online, there was no option for that account under the account listing.
There is no contact detail on the FNB website for smart devices, and the SMS I received also did not have a contact number. How am I supposed to do a manual payment?? Because I have no one to contact, I suppose hellopeter is my only option. Call me back with an answer.
Also, why am I now supposed to pay the full outstanding balance of this contract?
