We are a property development company and have submitted a progress payment request to Standard Bank on 25 November 2013 and have not received any payment by 05/12/2013. The majority of staff I have dealt with at the call centre is incompetent and misleading in their information. There's no empathy from their side. It seems as if Standard Bank thinks its doing developers a favour by granting bonds to our clients, and hold us at ransom. The inspector was on site on 27/11/2013 to do the inspection and on 05/12/2013, the inspection report is still not on the system and that is what's causing the delay in us getting the progress payment paid out. They are in the meantime charging interim interest and our work is standing still. The other 3 banks pay out within 36 hours after submission of progress payment. We bank with Standard Bank and after this experience, a bad taste has been let with us and we have decided to move our account to Nedbank. Thank you Standard Bank. You have made us wiser and made us realise that you are focusing more energies on your Access Saver campaigns and U-Count rewards an you forget how to polish your Homeloans departmental processes.
