I am a South African citizen that has been an expatriot living in Botswana for the last 8 years. Before I moved there I use to pay my SABC TV lisence by monthly debit order. I canceled this when we moved as we are not able to watch the channels provided by the SABC in Botswana. Emails were send to give them notice of this. A few years later my wife started receiving email and sms messages claiming that we owe them over R4 000 on this lisense. After numerous emails and calls explaining that we are not living in South Africa and cant use the service provided and that's why I canceled, my wife is still receiving weekly sms messages from NuDebt Attorneys. The last time I phoned I was told that the account will be put on hold. I am really frustrated and seens the biggest mistake I ever made was to do the right thing and pay my lusence while I was living in RSA. Please help!
