I phoned Old Mutual in September to take out a Funeral Cover which I did. I was promised to get the documentation in the mail which I did NOT get. I followed up and phoned them after they deducted the first premium 1 November, and was promised it would be mailed as well as emailed to me as they took the postal address down wrong. Still no documentation and no email. Phoned again 18 and 22 November and was told that they will email documents, but the email can take up to 6 weeks before I receive it. Ridiculous. SIX WEEKS to get an email. Will also take SIX WEEKS to get the documentation in the mail, after they made a mistake. So I guess, I will cancel the policy as it will most possibly take SIX WEEKS for a payout if a bus should run me over. So this policy is of no help to me or for the people who will arrange my funeral. They will have to put me under the bed for SIX WEEKS until they receive the payout. They did not wait SIX WEEKS to take my money. Will definitely not recommend doing any business with OLD MUTUAL.
