Stop with the happy faces :-(

FNB love it when you pay at the tills with your card. All the happy faces congratulating you on making the right decision... but infact it is the worst thing you can do.

Let me explain, I used my card to buy a pack of smokes and water (whatever it cost me R40.00) before FNB debited my account by over R200 in 'bank' fee's, but, and by no fault of mine or the service station, they only processed the payment thereafter, leaving my account in a -R40 and so, I suppose with much :-) happiness (smiley face) FNB have charged me over R130.00 for defaulting?

Why is it a good idea to use your card when the repercussions are so huge - R130! R200 for a box of smokes?

Is this standard banking practice, or just FNB' - I recommend, if anyone is listening, cash is king - keep your money out of FNB's greedy hands.

FNB; Please stop with the happy faces in your SMS' please - sometimes I think you should consider the green emoticon that represents feeling sick.
