I tried to deposit R3 600.00 cash into my FNB account on Thursday last week in the evening. There was an error with the ATM and it swallowed the cash. All I got was a slip saying "We are unable to process your deposit." I called the helpline and was told to go to the nearest branch first thing the next morning (Friday) which I did - I had to take time off work to do this. I was assured that the bank would investigate and return my money to me, and that they would call me by the end of the day. This did not happen so I called them - they said they had passed it on to Head Office and promised to call me by Monday (today). So far, nothing! And there is no sign of my money. FNB, I am quite DISGUSTED with your attitude. It may not be a large amount to you (probably one month's bank charges from me) but it is a big deal to me. Why didn't anyone call me? Where is my money? This is YOUR ATM which doesn't work, which you bill me EXORBITANT bank charges for each time I withdraw or deposit, and now I am forced to suffer and wait with no idea whether or not I will ever get my money back. I thought you were the best bank in South Africa, but this service absolutely STINKS.
