DISCOVERY CARD ACCOUNT CLOSURE PROCEDURES

I am at my wits end. I called Discovery card to advise my settlement amount. They politely tell me that since I am doing a cash deposit I must pay R31.50 1.2%. When I went FNB and told the teller I am putting the settlement amount on the deposit slip and will pay the deposit fees over and above that amount to them directly as I did not want to pay 1.2% on the settlement and bank charges as the 1.2% would have been calculated on the deposit amount. The teller advised me that if the amount I was depositing was the settlement amount advised by Discovery Card Division I would not have to pay the bank charges. So I paid the settlement amount and sent my card closure form to discovery card. Only to get an email to advise me to settle the bank charges either by direct deposit at FNB (which would cost me a further R31.50 1.2%) or via Internet banking. I do not believe in internet banking and therefore do not have the facility. They will not close my account because of R74.55 and now, believe it or not I am being charged INTEREST??? On a daily basis, can you believe it. Please do yourselves a very good favour and do not, I repeat do not get a DISCOVERY CREDIT CARD.
