I have banked with Standard Bank for 15 yrs. On 26th Oct 2013 I registered for Standard Bank's U-count Rewards programme. On 30th Oct, via email, I registered a complaint that I was incorrectly registered on Tier 2 and not 3 as my Standard Bank Home Loan was not recognised! (U-count Tracker 2053366). I firstly had to prove to Standard Bank that I have a Home Loan. After they acknowledged that I do have a Home Loan, I was then advised that it did not qualify because the balance is in negative - How is a home loan ever in positive???!!! To add insult to injury, they then DOWNGRADED me to a tier 1!!!
I responded saying that it would no longer be a Loan if it had a positive balance. I have yet to receive any further response from the U-count department (besides the fact that they are investigating it), despite numerous follow ups with Rashid.
On 12 November I lodged a complaint on the main Standard Bank General website stating the issue, to which I have to date not received any response. How difficult can it be to resolve this issue and/or respond to my complaint?
Here is hoping Standard Bank care enough about their customers that they will at least react to HelloPete
