Non-disclosure and proper Needs Analysis

In April 2013 I took out a policy to cover my House. I had a lighting strike my new borehole pump a few days ago and when I phoned them they told me that it was not covered. According to them: On my policy schedule and mails that I received nowhere was it specified. They then said that I was suppose to get a wording document in the snail-mail and let them know if I want the cover. I never received it.
I then mentioned that all me previous insurance had that included. Then I heard that I have to specify boreholes, swimming pool pumps and geysers. My question is this: if they get so specific, shouldn't they disclose for what they do not pay out when activating a policy (where other normal insurers like Santam) pays claims? They didn't do a proper Needs Analysis when selling me the policy and disclosed things like that. I then found out that they had only one of my geysers covered in the house. Now I am wondering; what else will they not pay out?
I would like to have a copy of the recording to hear what else was not disclosed.
